What is a virtual assistant?
A virtual assistant (or VA) is someone who provides support services to other businesses, usually remotely, i.e. from their own office, rather than on-site with the business. The services virtual assistants provide are wide-ranging and very varied, from traditional PA and secretarial services, to social media management, technical services, event management, lifestyle management and almost anything else you can think of!
What kind of VA are you?
I, along with my team, support businesses that need help with traditional PA and admin services, for example diary management, creating templates, managing emails, creating presentations etc. We also provide event management solutions covering events such as conferences, seminars, workshops and team-building days. For speakers and coaches we provide a combined package of business support and event management, assisting them with the day-to-day as well as organising training workshops and speaking engagements. Full details of all the tasks we can help with are on the Services page.
HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU ARE THE RIGHT VA FOR ME?
Before working with a new client I offer a no-obligation, free-of-charge discovery session. This is typically a 30-minute call or face-to-face meeting where we can get to know each other and I can find out what problems you are facing in your business. We also explore our ways of working and chat about how we could work together.
What will this cost me?
Ad hoc rates for my business support services start from £30 per hour; I also provide retainer packages for those clients who need regular work.
Event packages vary, depending on the size and scale of the event.
How will your service solve my problems?
By taking on the tasks that are taking your focus away from your business and allowing you to get on with those tasks that will enable you to achieve your goals.
Can I afford a VA?
The question you should be asking is can you afford not to have a VA? What is one hour of your time worth to your business? If it’s more than your VA’s hourly rate then surely hiring a VA is a no-brainer. An added advantage of employing a VA is that you only pay for the hours you need them for and, because we are experts in our fields, we can complete those pesky admin tasks much more quickly than you can.
How will it work?
Depending on the nature of the tasks you need to delegate, most of the work will be completed remotely. I use a variety of different methods to communicate and work with clients, including email, online to-do lists and project management tools and electronic filing systems. The methods used differ from client to client, based on the tasks that need completing and their preferred ways of working.
Why do you charge those rates?
Many people question a VA’s hourly rate. However you need to take into consideration that when you pay a VA you are only paying for the hours you need them to work. You aren’t paying for holiday, sickness, national insurance, tea breaks, loo breaks or for them to surf the net and check Facebook! You are getting years of experience, a passion for what they do, a consistently high standard of work, and their complete focus on your business during those hours. In short, you are getting great value for money.
